About this site
I'm a member of the Chitrapur Saraswat (Bhanap) community who has an interest in its language (a variant of Konkani).
The content of this site is made up of my notes relating to the language. I set this up as a place to keep and share ideas relating to teaching the language in a non-professional capacity to younger members of the Bhanap diaspora outside India.
Unless stated otherwise, the term "Konkani" as used on this site refers to the Bhanap variant of the language.
This site is a work in progress. As I learn more, find mistakes or think of a better way of describing some feature of the language, I expect to update existing posts.
If you need to contact me about the content of this site, please email me at aa [at] saraswat.org.uk.
You can also leave comments on individual posts, but these are moderated, so they may not appear on the site immediately.
aamgal bhaasa
aamgal bhaasa is the transliteration into English script of the Konkani for "our language". Within the community, we also refer to our language as aamcigalAnh , or aamci for short.
